The Elie Wiesel Foundation has said, “They Stand Corrected is an important contribution to understanding how media bias has turned too many otherwise thoughtful and informed individuals against the Jewish people.”

The program is sponsored by activist and community leader Herm Ungerman. Ungerman calls on the community “to speak openly and proudly about our Jewish heritage and Israel, and to know that we exist because of our strength, resilience and love for one another.”

Amidah Albany organizers report that the group was founded in the wake of the October 7, 2023 massacre in Israel, in response to local rising anti-Semitism. The organization’s goals are to support and stand up for the Jewish community in this region and beyond. It encourages Jews to fight against the misinformation and misrepresentation of Israel and the Jewish people. Since its inception, Amidah Albany has focused on educational outreach, public rallies against global anti-Semitism, advocating for the State of Israel, and raising awareness for the hostages still held in Gaza. The group has worked with local elected officials, candidates for public office, and local school boards to educate the community on how to recognize and effectively combat anti-Semitism.
