Congregation Gates of Heaven (CGOH) invites everyone to learn more about the congregation by attending an open house at the temple, 852 Ashmore Ave., Schenectady, on Friday, Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m. Held in conjunction with CGOH’s annual Family Sukkot Celebration, the evening will begin with families helping to decorate the congregation’s sukkah, followed by a family dinner and a family-friendly Sukkot service.

According to organizers, the open house is designed for anyone considering becoming part of a Jewish community, including families interested in preschool and religious school opportunities, individuals seeking Jewish learning and worship experiences, and those looking to make new connections within the Jewish community.

“This is an opportunity to experience Congregation Gates of Heaven rather than simply hear about us,” said Arnie Rotenberg, director of Congregational Jewish Living. “Families can celebrate with us, meet members of our community, ask questions and get a sense of what it feels like to be part of CGOH.”

Dinner is $15 per person or $20 for an entire family. As an open house welcome, prospective members attending as guests of a current CGOH member family will receive dinner at no charge.
