Author and playwright Ken Tingley’s “The Last American Newspaper” is in its final week and a half at Capital Repertory Theatre, 251 N. Pearl St., Albany, where the play is having its world premiere.
Tingley, the former editor of The Post-Star in Glens Falls, adapted the play from his memoir of the same name. It is set inside the paper’s newsroom and follows the staff through its hard-hitting investigations, including coverage of the opioid epidemic, and the paper’s Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing. Christopher Innvar plays Tingley.
The play runs through Oct. 18. Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $31.05 to $101.20, depending on performance and seating. Check the ticket calendar for availability.
