SCHENECTADY– The Schenectady Jewish Community Center (SJCC) plans an upcoming LEV (Learning Enrichment Volunteering) Program for seniors that will feature a concert by Duo Envol, two conservatory-trained musicians. It will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at 10:30 a.m. The free program will be at the Center, 2565 Balltown Rd.

According to organizers, Duo Envol is Melanie Chirignan on flute and Laura Melnicoff on cello. Both conservatory-trained musicians are passionate about both premiering new music, preserving historical music, and building community. They perform for colleges, libraries, schools, concert series, and in unconventional spaces like living rooms and tasting rooms. “Envol” is French for “flight” and “soaring.”
