The Schenectady Jewish Community Center (SJCC) has named the honorees of the 15th annual Robert J. Ludwig Community Service Awards Gala, an event celebrating outstanding contributions to the Capital Region, Schenectady County, and the JCC community, according to Center organizers. This year’s honorees are Richard and Alice Toll as the Community Service honorees; GE Aerospace will receive the Corporate Partnership Award and the Proctors Collaborative will receive the Philanthropic Leadership Award. The gala will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. at Mohawk Golf Club, 1849 Union St., Schenectady.

Center organizers report that Richard and Alice Toll have made a lasting impact on the Schenectady community and beyond by their unwavering commitment to service, generosity and caring.

According to the Center organizers GE Aerospace is moving innovation forward as a world-leading provider of jet and turboprop engines by supporting the future of flight, advancing the development of more efficient aircraft engine technologies and collaborating across the industry. Additionally, it was said, locally, its Next Engineers initiative with the University of Albany, miSci and NY Creates, will play a vital role in inspiring and preparing 4,000 students as the next generation of engineering leaders.

The Proctor’s Collaborative Center, by serving as a vital cultural, educational, and economic anchor in Schenectady and across New York’s Capital Region, has created an alliance that enriches the local community through arts-driven education, rich civic connection and meaningful community impact, according to Center organizers.

The late Robert J. Ludwig, is considered a friend, mentor, and visionary leader by the Center. His legacy of dedication, generosity, and community spirit, according to program organizers, continues to inspire the SJCC. The gala notes individuals and organizations that embody his values of service, partnership, and responsibility.
