ALBANY–U.Albany Hillel is honoring longtime volunteer and board chairwoman for over 10 years, Ilene Sykes, at a community-wide Shabbat dinner on April 10 at 8 p.m. in the UAlbany Campus Center.
“The dinner will honor Sykes enduring impact — her commitment to enhancing Jewish life, uplifting the community, and supporting generations of Jewish students,” according to Rabbi Nomi Manon, executive director of U. Albany Hillel since 2008.
In addition to her service as UAlbany Hillel’s board chairwoman, Sykes has served as the board chairwoman for the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, Daughters of Sarah and for the Albany Jewish Community Center.
