ALBANY – The Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York (JFNENY) hosted Union of Reform Judaism (URJ) President Rabbi Rick Jacobs at an event – Israel at a Crossroads – on Wednesday, May 27 at Beth Emeth in Albany. The event was co-sponsored with Congregations Beth Emeth, Berith Sholom, Gates of Heaven, B’nai Shalom Reform Congregation, Temple Sinai, and Temple Israel of Catskill. Over 250 community members attended the event, which was moderated by Beth Emeth’s Rabbi Greg Weitzman. According to organizers, Jacobs leads North America’s largest and most diverse Jewish movement, engaging more than 2 million people. He champions inclusive Judaism, social justice, and strong ties to Israel.
