You can help at JW as an intern — editorial or office admin type activity.
Some pay/ stipend is possible!
Editorial — any or all of these activities:
— “City desk clerk” — compile calendar items, outreach to synagogues and organizations to update contact list. Also seek news and pictures submissions about upcoming and past events. “News traffic manager.”
Posts to website, help choose stories for weekly e-newsletter, posts to Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram.
Learn ‘Who What When Where Why and How’ — how to write stories, take pictures at events, write captions— reporting!
Coordinate with freelance writers to cover stories
Admin — and/or Sales assistant
Ad traffic manager and customer service— interact with customers, keep track of their ads, make sure they are invoiced. Oversee ad layouts by our designers, get approvals from customers, execute changes.
If you love sales, you can contact customers and prospects to sell advertising and get commissions!
Subscriptions — monitor and update subscriber list, send out renewal reminders, record payments.
