BENNINGTON– The Bennington Museum will host an exhibit about the Bennington Jewish community from Feb. 6 through March 7, 2027. The exhibit will highlight more than 100 years of Congregation Beth El’s history, the Jewish community’s contributions to the local arts, and the many stories that make up Jewish life in the region.

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. at the museum, 75 Main St., Bennington, Vt. More details are to come.

Beth El asks for memorabilia and stories

Congregation Beth El is asking the community to help bring this history to life. The congregation is looking for photographs, memorabilia, documents and other treasures from Beth El’s past. It would also like to hear from Jewish residents of the Bennington area who have a story to share about living there, and from anyone with historical materials or personal experiences that could help tell the broader story of Jewish life in the community.

The congregation would like to assemble materials by Thanksgiving. Materials that are not used in this exhibit may be used in a future community-building project.
