Colonie Chabad schedules July 27 Jewish festival

Colonie Chabad invites the community to its first Jewish festival on July 27, with live music, kosher food and family activities.

Colonie Chabad schedules July 27 Jewish festival

Colonie Chabad invites the community to attend the first, (in what is expected by organizers to be an annual) Colonie Jewish Festival, Monday, July 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. The festival will be held at 401 Loudon Rd., Albany. This family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, kosher food, cultural exhibits, children’s activities, and vendors. Admission will be free.

Highlights will include the “Live Jewish World Music Band of Eli Masis, barbecue and deli, Judaica for sale, jewelry, crafts, games, a petting zoo, pony rides, and an ice truck. Admission is free.

Rabbi Mordechai Rubin, co-director of Colonie Chabad, asserted, “The Colonie Jewish Festival will be a celebration of our shared heritage, community spirit, and the timeless values that unite us. We welcome everyone to join in a celebration of friendship, learning, and joy.”
Chana Rubin co-director added, “When a community gathers to celebrate its traditions, culture, and faith, it strengthens the bonds that connect generations and inspires a brighter future for all. As the rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, taught, “A little light dispels a great deal of darkness.”
