SCHENECTADY—What’s It All About? Part 2, a poetry reading-and-writing course designed to help participants explore nature and poetry through a Jewish lens, will be led by Susan Comninos, a member of Congregation Gates of Heaven and a poet.

Classes began Tuesday April 1, and will be held on Tuesdays, 8, 15, 22, 29 and May 6. Classes are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the temple, 852 Ashmore Ave., Schenectady. Participants will discuss published poems and also craft works that compare experiences of nature to stories from the Tanakh and see if they reflect Jewish values.

Comninos’ debut collection of poetry, Out of Nowhere was published in 2022. She has taught writing at Siena College, The College of St. Rose, and The University at Albany, as well as in adult community programs.
