Colonie Chabad is offering the four-week “Sinai and Civics” course beginning July 8.
Colonie Chabad is offering a four-week course entitled “Sinai and Civics.” Classes meet for four Wednesdays at 6 p.m. starting Wednesday, July 8. Classes may be experienced at Colonie Chabad, 401 Loudon Rd., or on Zoom. The first class is free to try and will also include a dinner prior to the class.
The course will note America on its 250th anniversary and will address how it currently feels to be an American Jew. It will reflect on the values that shaped this country and examine the influence of Jewish teachings on America’s founding ideals and the Constitution of the United States.
“America’s founders drew inspiration from many sources, including values that have been central to Judaism for thousands of years. Understanding that connection can deepen our appreciation for both our heritage and our place in American society,” said Rabbi Mordechai Rubin, co-director of Colonie Chabad.
This course is accredited for NYS CLE and satisfies continuing education requirements for lawyers and other legal professionals.
Early bird pricing plus scholarship opportunities are available. Enrollment is at www.myjli.com/learn/colonie. Information may be obtained by calling 518-368-7886 or e-mailing chaicentercolonie@gmail.com. Sign-in info will be provided upon enrollment.
