LENOX, Mass. – Michelle Citrin and her band take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Duffin Theater at Lenox Memorial High School, 197 East St.

Pop folk songwriter and performer Citrin, is a Brooklyn based singer/songwriter and producer known as a pioneer of celebrating Jewish culture on YouTube with viral videos including, “20 Things To Do With Matzah,” “Rosh Hashanah Girl” and “Hanukkah Lovin.”

Time.com recently listed Citrin in their Top Ten list of Jewish rock stars and the Jerusalem Post has called her “The Jewish IT girl.”

According to Citron’s web page she is inspired by Rav Kook’s wisdom of, “What is old make new, what is new make holy.” She reports that she sets out to find connection points to our tradition’s wisdom and culture in an easily accessible way.

Citrin was born in Fair Lawn, N.J. to an Israeli mother. Her grandparents were Holocaust survivors. Citrin taught herself to play guitar and balances her “Indie folk singing with her Jewish identity and love of the comedic.

Concert proceeds will help fund the Berkshire Jewish Federation’s “Hate Has No Home Here” campaign.

Tickets for this concert must be ordered in advance, and are priced at $25, with $20 tickets available for young adults under the age of 30. Children under 13 will be admitted free of charge.
