Some of the seven species to be offered at the kiddish.
ALBANY–The greening committee at Temple Israel will host a Tu B’Shevat kiddush on Saturday, Feb. 8., following services (about noon) at the synagogue, 600 New Scotland Ave., Albany.
Tina Lieberman, board chairwoman of Zero Waste Capital District, will discuss the current dangers of nanoplastics and PFAS chemicals during the kiddush. Focus will be on how congregations can reduce waste. The free program is open to the community.
The New Year for Trees kiddush will also feature the seven seven species of Israel that the congregation will be serving.
Sponsors at $36 each for the seven species are sought. Information and details may be obtained by e-mailing karendavda@gmail.com.
