The Malka and Eitan Evan annual Yom Ha-Shoah Lecture has been slated for Tuesday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Standish Room (SL 330 in the Science Library, third floor), on the University at Albany’s uptown campus. Speaker, Dr. Magda Teter of Fordham University, New York City, will present on “Historical Reflections on Antisemitism in Our Times.”
Teter is a professor of history and is the Shvidler Chair in Judaic Studies at Fordham University. A scholar of Jewish–Christian relations and anti-Semitism, she has written several books, including Jews and Heretics in Catholic Poland, Sinners on Trial, and Blood Libel, which have received multiple awards. Her recent works examine the historical roots of anti-Semitism and the recovery of Jewish lives through archival research. Teter has published in multiple languages and contributed essays to major public outlets. A recipient of various fellowships, she serves as president of the American Academy of Jewish Research.
Kosher refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. prior to the lecture.
Parking will be available in the Dutch student parking area.
