Chabad of the Capital District has announced that a music and film program, “This World Is A Garden” will be featured at Siena College, Roger Bacon Hall, Key Auditorium, Rm. 202, 515 Loudon Rd., Loudonville on Monday, Feb. 10. According to organizers, the fusion of art, music, and storytelling will enable attendees a glimpse into the world through divine eyes—as G-d’s garden. The short program, inspired by Basi L’Gani Maamar, begins at 6:30 p.m. The venue has recently been changed from the Madison Theater.
The production features seven short films, each exploring a key theme from the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s inaugural Chasidic discourse. Every film transitions into a Chabad niggun, a melody representing one of the seven rebbes of the Chabad dynasty. At the heart of this is a story of a Chasidic farmer, steadfastly tending to his cherished patch of earth.
These niggunim arranged for this program by Maestro Israel Edelson, will be brought to life by the Laura Melnicoff String Quartet.
Program cost is $10. Information and reservations may be obtained at https://www.capitalchabad.com/templates/articlecco_cdo/aid/6767505/jewish/This-World-is-a-Garden.htm, 518-423-4103.
