The Daughters of Sarah Community for Seniors based in Albany, has announced the appointment of Barry Goldstein as its new president and CEO, effective Jan. 6, 2025. Goldstein, who most recently served as CEO of Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services in Houston, Texas, brings decades of experience in senior care administration and a commitment to enhancing the lives of older adults,” according to Mark Koblenz, the longtime leader of Daughters of Sarah, who has retired.

Administrators at Daughters of Sarah report that Goldstein has an impressive track record of leadership in senior care services, focusing on providing high-quality, person-centered care. During his tenure at Seven Acres, he implemented initiatives to elevate the resident experience and improve operational efficiency. Relying on his military training and over 30 years of nursing and assisted living experience, Goldstein has led his staff successfully through three major Gulf Coast hurricanes, the COVID pandemic, and several other inclement weather events.

Since 1999, Goldstein has been a professor for San Jacinto College, teaching aspiring administrators-in-training to become licensed nursing home administrators. His understanding of the aging population’s needs and his passion for fostering a strong sense of community aligns perfectly with Daughters of Sarah’s mission, according to Del Salmon, former chairman of Daughters of Sarah’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Board and chairman of the CEO Search Committee (comprised of members of the three boards of Daughters of Sarah). “Barry’s experience, leadership, and values resonate deeply with our community’s dedication to enriching the lives of seniors. We are confident that his vision will build on the incredible foundation laid by Mark Koblenz,” said Salmon.
